Beautiful and spectacular caves, with good facilities (steps, lights, good tour guide etc). Cameras allowed within caves. Perfect for those who want to see incredible stalagmite/tite formations without getting too dirty but if you're just interested in hunting ghosts this is basically a just a night version of the daytime cave tours rather than a true ghost tour, with the addition that the guide relates a few stories involving incidents possibly attributed to early explorers still lingering.

However these are basically caves without a particularly sordid history and so understandably not really a paranormal hot spot. Having said this I did get a few possible orb photos, assuming these are not dust, during the tour.

Personally I enjoyed the tour for the beauty of the caves and area alone.

At around 2.5hrs drive each way from Sydney it is not a short trip, particularly for the trip home since the tour ends at 10:00pm. I would recommend staying at the beautiful historic Caves House for the night.

Interestingly the internal cave temperature even in winter is surprisingly mild, even warm in places, even if bitterly cold outside.

Although quite strenuous (over 2000 steps in length), I found this tour to be a truly rewarding experience.

You get to hear about some interesting folklore regarding the history of the caves and you also get to traverse at least 3 of the caves at night, in a single tour. I didn't have any strange experiences until the last ten minutes or so when we were exiting via the Lucas Cave. (we first went to the Temple of Baal, then through the 'mud tunnels', through the river cave and then on to the Lucas Cave). I was looking at the cave wall and in front of me appeared the silhouette of a man. I originally thought it was just a shadow until I observed it carefully. It was suspended in the air, fairly hazy and was not cast onto the wall. The man (although his features were not distinct) was clearly wearing an old style bowler hat). It definitely freaked me out as I am very skeptical regarding these types of things.

I would definitely recommend the tour for its diversity and level of interest.

As a Sydney resident one of my favorite places to visit is the Blue Mtns area & Jenolan Caves. I did the ghost tour a couple of years ago and enjoyed it, although I can't say that anything in particular happened out of the ordinary. I can say that more than you can imagine has happened within the Caves House accomodation on my visits(main house built in the 1800's). The old ballroom (now the dinning room) we found was VERY ACTIVE. Level 2 also, I stepped out of the way of a women dressed in 1800's attire in the hallway. We have numerous photos with faces in them from this trip!
