We chose the above cemetery for our first investigation. Although we haven't come across any unusual reports about this particular location, it's remote and old (the oldest gravestone dates back to the 1830's) and we thought it would be a good place to be left undisturbed for a few hours. Coincidently, it is also the cemetery in the photograph used for our logo, so it's fitting that it became our first to officially explore as Paranormal Australia.

Two hours before the watch, I received a phone call from a spirit medium. She said that she had been visited by a man who told her that he was waiting for us at the cemetery. He wanted us to photograph him. She believed his name was 'Henry' or 'Harry' and his last name sounded something like 'Morse'. She told me to keep an eye out for a large gravestone. She could see wings and felt that the stone was possibly adorned with an angel or bird. She also said that there was a 'Caroline' nearby.

We arrived to find the cemetery and surrounding paddocks blanketed in a thick fog. Luckily, there was enough light streaming in from nearby Camden and we only needed use our torches when negotiating uneven ground or examining gravestones. Each of us carried notebooks to record our feelings and experiences. Listed below are our notes.

Sherylee - Heard a 'shhh' near the front of the cemetery near where Kelly was standing. Back became sore down in the back left section of the cemetery. Heard footsteps in the middle right of cemetery. Thought I saw someone sneaking around the front of the cemetery behind the headstones. Saw a black ball type thing fly past my right side vision twice.

Kelly - Heard a 'shhh' next to me. Thought I heard footfalls behind me and when I turned around quickly it felt like someone was there.

Mick - Saw what looked like male legs about 10 feet to the right of me. It was very cold. Slabs over the graves seemed to light up. Definitely not as a result of headlights but like a fluorescent light that gets brighter after it's turned on. I had a general feeling of unease as the night went on.

Lani - Heard a very loud 'shush' at the front of the cemetery. It sounded as though it came from right next to us. When standing at the back of the cemetery I felt as though I was being watched from the front and vice versa. Mick and I settled into a spot in the centre and I felt as though I was where I was supposed to be and was no longer being watched. I saw a flash towards the front of the cemetery. It was white in colour and moved from right to left behind the gravestones. Saw a dark crouching figure sneaking between the gravestones. When I was standing in the back left of the cemetery I felt as though I was in danger, although from what I have no idea. Several times when using the digital camera my photographs came out black even though the flash went off and there was nothing obstructing the lens. About 3-4 times I heard footsteps and looked up expecting to see someone coming and saw no one.

Towards the end of the cemetery watch, I headed over to a group of large gravestones. I hadn't had any luck finding the grave of the man that had visited the spirit medium, and these were the only ones left to inspect. To my amazement, the first one I came to belonged to a man named Henry Moore. I called the rest of the group over and we began to take photographs of Henry's gravestone and of those around it. At the time, I was unable to find 'Caroline'.

Sherylee caught this strange mist only 8-10 feet away from Henry's headstone with her digital camera. Kelly examined the area using her torch, but could not see any clusters of mist or fog like the one that showed up in the photo.

Below is another unusual photograph that I took using Mick's digital camera. What's so amazing is that
these orb-like anomolies appeared around the same gravestone! The stone reads:
In Loving Memory of
Willie
Dearly beloved Husband of
H. M. McKee
who died 8th Nov 1898
Aged 39 Years
May his soul rest in peace

A week later, I returned to the cemetery during the day to explore the location in the light. I payed particular attention the the area surrounding Henry Moore's grave and those of his relatives. During another telephone conversation with the spirit medium the day after the watch, she had told me that Henry had kept her awake much of the night. She said that he was a well dressed man and obviously someone with a great deal of money. The medium also told me there was a woman named Mary Moore.

I found a headstone only few feet away from Henry's engraved with the name Mary Maria Moore. I also came across the grave of a woman named Caroline Sharman only 5 headstones (approx. 40ft) away from Henry's. She had died at age 76 on July 18th in the late 1880s (unfortunately the last number was too worn to make out). She was buried beside her husband. On top of the graves were two delicate sculptures covered with glass domes, one of roses and the other of flowers and a white bird.

In conculsion, each of us experienced something unusual in the cemetery that night. The loud 'shush' that was heard simultaneously by Kelly, Sherylee and I was the probably the most outstanding occurance. We feel that further investigation of this location would be worthwhile.
