The Smell of Smoke

Well I never thought I would be visiting a web site such as this but, am looking for some answer as to what I have been experiencing in the past 6 months.
I live in a mid mountains town, of which is in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney Australia with only my Golden Retriever who is always inside with me.
My house is a typical brick veneer home built in 1980 and was originally built for the Royal Australian Air Force as a residence for the RAAF families who lived in the area.
Well in the past 6 months I have now been experiencing whilst in my home office the smell of someone smoking... I'm a non smoker and everytime it has happened, as soon as I realise the smell is there it is gone. I do not leave windows and doors open of an evening which is when these events are happening.
The most recent occurred on 18th June 2004 when I was in the kitchen getting myself a cuppa tea. And before that it has happened in the living room on one occasion as well. However it is mostly isolated to my home office.
It is really starting to make me feel a little uneasy as I cannot find an acceptable explanation for this.

Michael's Scary Experiences

well i was sleeping in the lounge room and then all of a sudden i was woken up from this noise. i dont know what it was from but i tell you that it wasn't normal um how can i put this it's abnormal. i woke my dad and he said dont worry it's just normal for a kid to get these senses
after that i walked to the lounge room and there was this figure right in front of me it was the 2nd freakiest thing that that happend to me in this house and i am never going there again because see i dont live there anymore because it was too freaky.
the other thing that happened to me was that my mum left the house and left my brother and my sister's with my grandmother and my aunty. we were listening to the radio and we had the t.v down and the lights were on and and the t.v turned off and on and my aunty felt a slight wieght on her.... ah man i am getting scared just telling you about wat happened.....
then my grandmother told me to get the rugs from the back room then suddenly i heard a loud bang as if it was right near me. i got scared and told my grandmother to get it her self because i was so scared. so she said to us kids because michael's not going to get the rug i will get a shift from the first room. |
so my grany walked towards the room and then the door slamed on her face i ran out of the house screaming for help because i was so scared and thats the end
if you dont believe me well then don't because i know there's somthing out there and thats my experience

I watched that same Tasmania video a couple of nights ago and when I reached Port Arthur, I thought I'd have a look in the Nanny's Room.
To my surprise, the rocking chair was slowly moving.
I showed my sister and my Mum and they saw it too.

Nighttime Visitor

In January 1988 my (new) husband and I were driving back to Victoria from our Western Australian honeymoon. We had stopped for the night at the Eucla Motel - near the W.A / S.A border.
As we planned a 3am start the next morning we went to bed early, in separate beds since we hadn't quite got the hang of sharing a bed yet.
I was just drifting off to sleep when I thought I could see the dark outline of a person standing close to the bed watching me. There was no feeling of fear, infact I felt warm and cared for and the thought flashed across my mind "Mum must be thinking of me." I lay watching, 1/2 asleep before rolling over, noticing as I moved a dark shape seeming to walk past the end of my bed.
Settling myself back to sleep again I was dismissing what had happened as imaginative fantasy when my husband suddenly called out "Kate, is that you?" He had been awakened by someone sitting on the end of his bed.
A total sceptic he discounted my theories and we proceeded to check doors and windows and every corner of our room; bathroom, wardrobes and under the beds. There was of course no evidence of anyone but ourselves.
Both of us believe we had a visitor that night however we differ on their origin!
Interestingly the next day, in the first hour of our early morning drive a huge shape cleared our bonnet by inches - probably a camel - so perhaps rather than a spirit visitor it was our guardian angel providing travel insurance! |

It happened during a storm...

When I was about 10 there was a very bad storm coming through. So I went into my parents room because I was getting scared of the lightning.
All I remember is waking up and looking at the clock and all of a sudden I heard a huge clap of lightning.I turned to look by the window then I saw a foggy figure. I kept hearing chains and he kept yelling for someone named sarah!
He walked by me (i was on the floor) and looked straight at me for about 3 seconds then walked out of my parents room and then the storm was gone.

My friends Dad?

This happened about 2 months ago.
I was at one of my best friends house after school. We were listening to loud music and dancing.
We got bored and decided to walk up HEB. So she was looking for a t-shirt to change into. We went to the laundry room which is right across from the office. As we were walking by we were talking about her dad who had passed last year, when all of a sudden a neatly stacked pile of papers flew off the desk! The way in which the papers were on the floor afterwards looked like they would as if someone had pushed them.
Other times i have been over at her house and in her dad's old office when we would talk about him we would hear doors slam! But when we would go check every door would be open.
There is a lock thats always getting locked in his office (he would always lock it). Her mom yells at her for supposedly locking it when she doesn't. |

Haunted House

hi my name is dianne im a single mum with 3 children. my children and l have had a experience in a house for 6 months and then we moved out.
lt all started when we moved into a emergency housing. it was the second week when we moved in and it started at 2am in the morning when the smoke detector when off every night at different times and l couldnt understand why it when off when it ran of power then it was the cold feeling that would go past your face and then it was the terrible unexpainabe smell that would come out of nowhere.
then my 2 oldest children would play and hear someone tell them to shut up and no one was there and they would hear the humming. we would hear footsteps down the hallway, we would hear the doors bang, we would hear children play but there were no children in the house playing early hours of the morning.
the kettle would go on and the doors in the kitchen would be opened when we woke up the lights would go on their own, the radios would all turn on on their own.
my daughter who is 8 would have bad sleeps and be up all night sweating for no reason and say she cant sleep she would tell me the girl in her room wont stop crying and make her stop but l couldnt see her.
my bathroom was so cold all the time. blinds would go up the childrens beds would be like someone has been sitting on them. tv would go on and off picture frames would fly off the wall.
up to 38 people had experience something in the house.
my daughter also had someone with a hat that was following her but when we out it didnt follow her but if she was angry it didnt come near her. |
one night l went to bed and l woke up at almost 3am in the morning and saw a male figure on his side and l put the doona over my head and put it down and saw him again and ran into the lounge and stayed there woke in the morning and the door was shut.
the doors would open and close things would move my friends that came would get told to get out of the house and lots of others things that happened
l have taken photos and you can see a full figure there and taped voices when there was only one person in the house. my children and l left the house 6 weeks ago and its been very hard for all 4 of us my children have councelling for something thats not there and we are called nutters which it is sad
my son has insulin diabetes my second child has renal disease and my third has hearing impairment and developmental delay. we just want to prove to housing that we are not mad and that we had to deal with it not them.

Dirk's Experiences at the Quarantine Station

My mother, Cousin and Uncle went on a Ghost tour to the Quarantine Sation as i have always wanted to go there.............
i will never forget what happened that night.
our tour started off out front of the Officers house and i could hear the sound of ripping paper coming from the balcony. then we stoped outside of the 3rd Class dinning room and the air was freezing cold. (being winter) as soon as we walked inside, everyone broke out into a sweat as it was boiling hot in the dinning room but there were no heating systems.
as we decended the stairs into the kitchen, i felt something hold my waist as if they were guiding me down.
once in the kitchen, i felt that the room was full of people even though at that moment there wer only 3 of us in there, in the small room at the back of the stairs it was freezing cold but there was no draft comming out of the doorway.
after that we stopped out front of the grave-diggers hut and apart from a possum scratching at the window, i felt a great feeling of sorrow and the air smelt of death.
we made our way to the Morgue and we were greeted with a wrapped corpse on the slab, (done by the workers of the q station) our tour guide "Matt" made us jump a few meters by telling us the story of the moving corpse and then subtly made the corpse on the slab jump up.
when we were in the gas-chamber, i me and my cousin had trouble breathing and felt wet and cold.
The shower block was the worst experience ever. i had a video camera with me and was filming parts of the tour, but when we got to the shower block my camera was playing up, the guide and many other people assured me that the metal in the block wouldnt affect it but while Matt was talking to us, one of the shower pannels next to us was kicked from the other side and a huge bang rang out throught the whole building, (matt even screamed) we looked and realised that the whole group wer on our side of the showers and the person would had to have come out where we could se them but when we looked in there, no one was there. |
the camera bag on my shoulder was being hit and on of the pocketts opens and the contents fell out, spilling over the floor, .......... i found the lens cap on the other side of the shower block, sitting on a bench in the far right shower...........
when we left we heard running water and the smell of fennol was really strong.
in the hospital (one half of the old buildings were torn down) one of the bed trays slide into the head of the bed by itself but the group were in the other room. i felt that there was someone behind me all the time and it got to the point when i had to walk out.
my camera was playing up and i caught an extra image that i didnt film....... i was filming the ward until it got too dark and i had to film darkness and just sounds, on the screen there was just blackness, but when i watched it on the tv the next day, i had picked up this sequence:
there was a table in the middle of the room and some of the people on the tour were sitting at it, and Matt was sitting in a bed talking to us, there was a flash of light and standing right next to matt, was a doctor in a coat and a huge needle, he walked behind Matt and looked as if he was inserting the needle into his back. then as i went to focus out the window, the was a patient in a bed that a girl from the tour was sitting on, he had small pox by the looks and was gagging, holding his throat and reaching out to her, (at this moment she had trouble breathing and had to go outside.) I have send this film into paranormal investigators.
the tour was a really great experience and i will come back at daytime and night to see more.
