well
this is what my mum and Nanna saw on their way from
Adelaide to a small country town called Port Pirie at
night.
They where almost there when suddenly out of nowhere
came to the left side came a huge big lights the actual
shaped thing was as big as a football field
My nanna said it hovered over in the distance and then
suddenly took off over them flying towards sydney now
later on there had been several sightings all the way
to sydney and people added up all the times of sightings
and found out it got from Port Pirie to sydney in 30
minutes.
my mum and nanna where in the local paper in Port Pirie
which the paper joked about it and said it most probably
was a plane but how could a plane be as big as a football
field ......... Could it be a mother ship??? |

Séances
are something to believe in. At a friend's house, in
a room that seemed totally unprotected from bugs. Which
was strange as it was sealed and brick and everything
but it had centipedes crawling everywhere and months
all over the walls. The room had haunted my friend for
a while. She had once seen a huge face at the entrance
to that room which is still unexplained. And despite
heating, it was always, always cold.
We decided to do a contact séance and whilst
planning one we set up a ring of salt with a candle
and crystal glass and a lighter. We got distracted before
we started and were looking at my friend's old yearbook.
We left the room and came back ten minutes later with
a few hot drinks; the light had been switched off, the
year book had opened up to a page with my year 7 homeroom
teachers face on it.
He had killed himself after the death of his best friend
in the first year of teaching at my collage. |
I
got the shakes something shocking. That teacher had
hated me and the more of a hard time he had given me,
the more I gave him back, I was so overthrown by his
sudden death but hated him so much it didn't effect
me in any way except guilt. Not sorrow, just guilt for
being so un-saddened, and so snobby towards him.
Well the magazine opening itself was enough to nearly
put my other two friends into shivers but I was on the
verge of tears and wouldn't do the séance.

Haunted
Phillip Island House
Submitted by: bbkf VIC, Australia (29/07/03)
|
| My
dad has a house in Phillip Island where nearly every
time I have visit, I have heard a regular timed pacing
on the polished floors of the main room. The noise gets
louder and quieter, so really closer and further away
from the room I sleep in.
I don't understand how this can be a haunting, because
my dad built the place. You can only hear it form the
one room and only late at night.
Dad's best excuses are because the roof is hollow and
everything is open it collects echoes from the neighbours
walking around at night or it is merely the plumbing
and gas works. I knew it wasn't the latter, before the
house had gas or plumbing, dad let my brother and sister
and I camp outside the house whilst the skirting and
floor varnishing was being done. There was no plumbing
or gas, just a hollow house, and I heard the noises
then for the first time, assuming dad had needed to
finish up a late varnish coat inside the house.
Another night I walked around the streets late, I'd
snuck out because Dad hates me doing that and wouldn't
allow for me to wander around there.
Everyone was asleep, the lights in every nearby house
were out and it was silent, completely half the neighbours
weren't there as the houses are holiday ones.
That night again I heard the noises. Summer was the
third last time I was up there and that was the time
I swore never to go back there. It was a deathly still
and quiet night, I was tired by the silence was so bad
my heart beat was noisy enough to keep me awake and
overly sensitive to everything. |
There
was no moon in the sky so not only was it quiet but
blindly dark without my light on, and too bright with
it on.
Despite the two blankets the heater and hot water bottle
in my room, it got cold. A real Phillip Island trait
there!
When it started to get a little too cold I closed my
eyes to keep them warm and pretend that it wasn't horribly
dark and quiet. I sort of felt something near me, like
I could tell it was there and it felt really close to
my face. I held my breath for two seconds and heard
a sharp inhale in my right ear, like something had leant
over and seen me there and gasped.
My whole body reflexed, I cried out and had the light
on in a second. The last two times I have been there
I have gotten sick to the point of vomiting at lunch
time in the middle of the amount of days I have stayed
for. But I now sleep in the room where nobody hears
anything, on the far side of the house.

Poltergeists
Submitted by: bbkf VIC, Australia (29/07/03)

I
have experienced a lot of things that have spooked and
stunned me at one time or another. That are clearly
not the norm.
I know a small group of people who have had the same
thing happen to them and I have a few things that I
have written about.
I love learning of the paranormal and strange things
that can occur, I wish I could be completely educated
on the topic because I swear I would make it my career
to investigate these things.
Just know how unsafe some things can be, below are letters
three years old, I wrote to a friend who loved the same
sort of things that I did. I've tried editing them to
make sense and be short. But it is hard, because I don't
remember these things to every detail as I first had
done so. I'd even forgotten about a few. All the same,
I have the addresses for all these occurrences accessible
and intend to revisit a few locations in the future,
I am in no rush to do so.
The
most physically visibly active house I am aware of as
haunted is about four streets from mine. I mean visibly
active within, more or less it is poltergeists that
tend to make forms of communication to our present and
spook the majority of guests.
The house is very old. It is maintained by my uncle's
mate and is purely a holiday house that this guys parents
own (may I say his parents do not actually like visiting
the place and do believe that it is haunted. They are
as much as I understand, scared of it).
Its first owners were of a culture I think it was Italian.
It is (like many of the houses local to my area) old
and remotely close to the beach.
My uncle has stayed over night there before, but the
first time it was without knowledge that the place was
haunted.
He was watching TV in a dining room that seals up with
sliding doors. He was sitting down when one of the doors
slowly slid open and shut, just a little. Then assuming
his friend was playing tricks on him, my uncle laughed
it off, quite soon after, the chair pushed in at the
table beside him slid around completely to face the
television. |
My uncle screamed and was then informed that night he
would sleep in a haunted place. His friend said that
often "they" stay quiet around strangers and
that they are harmless.
The rooms of the house all had different result from
these haunting events. Doors slam again and again, cutlery
draws rattle and slam and eventually the guy yells something
like a warning, often a threat with a count down. They
stop, suddenly when told to most of the times apparently.
In a particular bedroom it is cold and the door knob
often twists noisily but never is opened.
The kitchen there has been the sound of a woman humming
and I think a silhouette or something that has been
seen once.
Picture frames occasionally are found face down, or
on angles on the walls but more regularly the rooms
temperatures change to cold and the vibe to angry or
provoked.
I would love to go to the actual place myself. There
are a billion things I've heard. I know the address,
but I want consent from the owner to see it, my uncle
doesn't want me to.

Tossums
Experiences

I
have a number of different experiences, i would like
to share 1.
I have always believed in the spiritual after life from
the time i was a small child.
My first experience was being rocked awake whilst on
the verge of sleep a number of times in the house where
i grew up.
Upon telling my family they thought i was just lying
for attention.
Then I moved to the small country town of Junee to live
with my grandparents for a number of years.
Occasionally i would have the sensation of someone laying
next to me in bed, only to have the sensation vanish
as soon as i went to feel for a torso next to me. Then
one night at about 4:30am, I was awoken from a deep
sleep with the strong feeling that someone was in my
room with me.
Before i opened my eyes to look, I sat bolt upright
in bed then opened my tied eyes to see if anyone was
there. I had a television in the opposite corner of
the room and where the red light was shining for 'off'.
i could see a shadowy figure of what seemed to be an
old hunched over man with long hair.
I remember feeling slightly shocked but overwhelmingly
calm, in the next moment it seemed the shadowy figure
turned as if to look at me, as it seemed he was facing
the tv at the time, i sensed he was startled to see
me looking at him and as quick as lightning the figure
ran straight out of the room through the closed door. |
The
next thing i knew i was in a deep sleep again.
This experience didn't really shock me as i always sensed
something in my grandparents house and it was well known
that a man had committed suicide in the garage of the
house a few years prior to my grandparents buying the
house.
Only recently my grandparents had an experience of their
own in the house when they came home to a locked house,
to find 2 of my grandfathers 4 lawn bowls had been taken
out of the bag and set about a foot away from the bag.
Knowing that they had been cleaned and all put into
the bag just before leaving the house, they now believe
the experiences i have had in the house.

Family
Reunion

I
have had a few experiences with ghosts and other phenomena,
however the "best" of all these was a night
that I experienced having multiple spirits in my home.
I remember the date, it's pretty easy for me to recall
these as it was a significant time.
It was Saturday the 4th of September 1993 at about 11:20pm.
The night was cool so Mum and I had the heater going,
and we were up late chatting.
My Grandmother was in hospital, having been taken there
the day before. She was dying from bowel cancer and
was in the final stages. My mum was talking to me about
this, and I was doing my best to comfort her... not
easy for a 17 year old kid to do.
I know this will sound like a cliche` but it is what
happened, the room went cold. As I said the heater was
going, but that had no effect. The room was fridge type
cold. This is where it got weird, Mum was facing me
looking towards a wall, I was seated looking into our
lounge room (we have an L shaped lounge/dining, we were
in the dining having a cuppa),
what I saw in the lounge were about 10 people standing
in the lounge. I recognised 2 of these people. 1 was
my Grandfather who had died about 8 years before and
the other was my godmother, who was also my mums best
friend, who had died about 3 years before. The other
people I didn't know, however as I explained to my mum
that we had "visitors", told her of the 2
I did know and began describing the rest I was freaked
out, my mum knew who they were as they were her grandparents
and aunty's and uncles who had died years before.
The strangest of the lot was my Aunty Mary-anne. She
had died when my mum was 15 and she was not really spoken
about in our family.
I did not know what any of these other people had looked
like in life having never seen photos, I knew of them
but not who they were as such. |
To
cut a very long story short my Grandfather spoke to
me and told me that the next day my Grandmother would
die, that it would be in the morning and that my mum
and uncle would miss seeing her pass by a minute, and
further said that they would be given a sign of her
passing comfort and support.
My Mum and Grandfather had been very close in life.
The next day true to what he had said my Grandmother
passed 1 minute before my Mum and Uncle got to her room.
The sign... when they were in the elevator on the way
up to the floor my Nan was on they both felt a breeze
pass through the lift and the smell of roses. My Grandmothers
"signature" in our family was roses.
There were a lot of very strange things after this,
but they can be saved for another time. I have had some
truly terrifying experiences with spirits, and I have
also had some funny ones.
I know what happened was true, it's hard to write exactly
what you want to say, so I am sorry for the less than
detailed write up.
Thanks
for reading,
Grant

Old
Prospect Church

hi
there
my story is about me and my mates going to the old prospect
church. were should i begin oh, well it began when my
mates were reading the local newspaper when an add was
in there saying that the council had put a ghost tour
on. my mates love the paranormal so they put us on the
list.
well as the week would naturally go past like lighting
. saturday came and the ghost tour night had come,we
drove down to the cemetry.the ghost was scary only because
of the full moon.
after the tour we strolled to the car when a priest
asked what are you doing here we said we were on a ghost
tour. he strolled off. |
we kept walking until we saw organiser and asked how many
priests work at this church she said none, well we said
there was a priest here wondering why we were here, but
i will remember what she said for a long time.
she told us that the priest has been dead for over 100
years. i have never been back to that cemetery hopefully
i will not have too. maybe one day you might witness too.

Haunted
Flat

Being
a practicing witch and psychic I have had many paranormal
experiences over the years.
When I was younger and had very little understanding
of what was going on, I was living in a flat in Newcastle
that was half of an old house.
This flat had two bedrooms, one of which was only used
as a storeroom. A few times I tried to clean it up to
use as a study, but I always got cold chills in this
room. It was colder than the rest of the house and I
couldn't stand to be in there.
I remember trying to sleep in there one night and lasted
5 minutes. In hindsight. I now know that this room was
the site of some tragedy in the past. |
Also
whilst living in this flat, I had many experiences of
astral traveling and not being allowed back into my
body without a fight, and one night woke to find the
ghostly image of a woman sitting on the bed next to
my husband stroking his head and telling me to keep
away.
Instinct kicked in & I commanded her to leave, which
she did. We also did a few months later.
I wish I knew then what I know now, and in the years
since have had many of "other dimensions"
to the point that they are now just another part of
my life.

Scary
Night

well
i live with my mum and dad in scotland I'm 15
one night i invited some friends over for a sleep over
my mum and dad had work and didn't come back till 8
o'clock the next day. well that night we ordered a pizza
and watched a really scary movie(exorcist).
during the film the lights started flickering then all
the lights went out by this time i was so scared it
was completely dark.
me and my friends went up stairs to see what happened
because i wouldn't go on my own. so we all went up with
a light candle. it was so creepy suddenly a gush of
wind rushed past us the candle went out the lights come
back on all of a sudden the bathroom door swung open
all the mirrors was smashed and the bath was filled
up with water
then my dog started barking out in the garden we all
ran down stairs to see what was going on but nothing
was going on no one was there!
i brought the dog inside to find all the doors in the
house was open by this time we were all freaked out
and all my friends were nearly crying. |
in
the end we all went to sleep but woke up in the middle
of the night to some one standing over me stroking my
hair
i screamed the house down till all my friends woke up
but this thing disappeared and all the windows slammed
shut.
this experience was really and honestly scary stuff
but ever since that day me and my friends haven't spoken
a word until now.
nothing has happened since that night. i don't know
what it was or who who it was but what ever it was it
was evil.

Whilst
living in a house in Bray Park just over 2 years ago,
I had some real strange happenings.
One morning whilst my daughter and I slept I awoke to
her screaming sitting right up in the top of the bed
and right in front of her a animal like figure of a
rat had her bailed up. I got up still looking at this
figure turned on the light and there was nothing but
I swore there was something when the light was off.
I did not think much of it until other things happened.
I was in my room one night talking to a friend on the
phone and the phone started dialling, I freaked and
ran out to the lounge to my partner (not telling him
what happened - he does not believe in this sort of
happenings).
Then I had other happenings in the house, doors opening
and closing, seeing someone walking across from the
hall to the sliding door.
I decided to talk to the neighbour and said to her you
might think I have lost it and told her what had been
happening. She told me she thought it was perfectly
normal as the neighbour on the other side of me has
had similar problems, including a car that bleeds. |
To
make matters worse or good my daughter tells me she
has been playing with me deceased uncle and grandfather
(who she did not meet and I had not shown her a photo
until about a year ago) and my 2 year old who did not
meet them could also point my grandfather out in a photo
and tell me who he was.
I really believe that there is something more to death
then just dying after what my girls can tell me about
our deceased relatives and what we have experienced.

Treasure
Cave
Submitted by: Marla, x-chiliean now australian (28/06/03)
|
hi
there,
my
great great grandfather was a navy sailor in chile.
i was told that wherever he went he would bring back
exotic products back home for my great great grandma.
he died in 1990 at the age of 94.
but
he loved his treasure in the bottle too, too much according
to my mum.
the
family resided in north part of chile. there is an urban
myth still going around to this day.......... in a cave
somewhere in north chile coast, with a small little
stretch of beach. there was treasure hidden by an european
pirate during the era when spanish ruled chile. people
from all over the world, professional, amateur treasure
hunters tried to track down this treasure buried by
the pirate, those who ventured into the cave were drowned
by sudden raised tide. every single time.
great
great grandfather and a few of his mates decided to
try their luck in locating the treasure, since they
were professional sailors, they equipped themselves
with diving gears for the you know just-in-case tide
raising. before they set off, they had this pre-celebration
in pub, they got so drunk that it was a miracle some
how they still managed getting to the cave.
to
get into the cave, you have to walk quite a distance
of tunneling. once inside the cave, it was so dark that
you literally could not see anything. the gang lit up
a lamp, holding it above their heads to shine the path
in front of them. finally they reached the cavity, and
what they saw they could not be certain was it because
they were too drunk or it was really there. |
there
was this huge, so huge it was not your average great
dane size, black dog. big, black angry dog. Growling
at the men, they heard IT shouting: "GET OUT OF
THIS CAVE AND NEVER COME BACK!"
Drunk,
shitting in their pants, they didn't remember how the
hell they got out there, most importantly Alive?!
to
say because of the liquor doing its duty to my great
great granddad, but how to explain all five men seen
and heard the Beast shouting the same thing at the same
time?
since
that night, my great great granddad stopped drinking
and never want to go near that beach till the day he
died.
for those who are still interested in tracking down
this treasure in chile, i strongly suggest you thorough
research on this myth before you go into the cave.
cheers.
